This week i'm posting a photo I personally like a lot because of the beautiful patterns and colours. You'll probably ask yourself what exactly is this. Well, while it looks like an image from a kaleidoscope it's far from that. It's actually a dome, the dome of "the Hall of the Abencerrajes family" in the Alhambra, Granada,Spain. I went there on a long weekend right before Christmas and the whole Alhambra complex, with it's fountains, gardens and halls is simply stunning.
The Alhambra is,by far, the best remain of spanish muslim heritage, closely followed by Cordoba's cathedral-mosque. Muslim architecture is lovely, paying close attention to detail and blending nature with architecture in a beautiful way.
If you haven't gone to Granada and visited the Alhambra yet, I strongly recomend it. When I ask people if they have visited Spain most of them say "Yes,well i've been to Barcelona" Don't get
Me wrong, Barcelona is also lovely, but there are many other places in Spain that are at least as beautiful that no one knows. And, besides, Barcelona considers itself the least spanish part of Spain so if you want to learn spanish and spanish culture it's not the best place to go.
