Welcome! I have quite an addiction to drawing and I doodle all over the place. Here I will mostly be posting these small doodles I make, although i'll also add some of my "more serious" paintings and drawings or anything I DO/FIND related to art.I'll (try to) post as often as possible and I would love for you people to express what you think about them (either good things or bad things, i'm eager to hear what you think!)
*If you are wondering why this blog has such a weird name they are just the fist two letters of my name and all the surnames I know :-p

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Finally finished my work after days and days of hard work!!!!! I'd never done such a complex watercolor and I hope you guys enjoy it...
I have a special love for the city of New York since I lived there for two years, and I'll be giving this watercolor to my mother, who was the person that took us there in the first place and she is the number one fan of the city!!!!
Under my painting, I'll post the one I based mine on, in order to get colors, posters and buildings right. Although at first it might look completely the same, there are a bunch of differences, starting from the point of view (mine is situated higher, as if you saw the scene clinging to then top of a lamp post like in the film Crocodile Dundee) and of course, the colors. :)

Pen drawings

I've been busy with my last masterpiece: NeW YorKs' Times Square in watercolor!!!! I'm still working on it and you can't imagine how much patience and work one needs to put into a scene full of color, lights, posters, cars, people, buildings etc. I'll hopefully finish it this week and I'll do a post just for it. :)
In the meantime I'll leave you here with a few of my quick pen characters...

SEAHORSE

Officially started my summer vacations!!!!! With the end-of-term exams over, the Selectividad over as well ( Selectividad is the official exam we do here in Spain to get accepted in public universities) and not having to attend school, I'll have more time to paint, draw and dedicate to the blog :)

Today I'll continue with my under-the-sea theme I started with the hermit crab from my previous post (http://luloleloco.blogspot.com/2013/05/mr-hermit-crab.html ) This time though, it's a seahorse, and I also created him from a few scribbles which I then looked carefully and my imagination did the rest, adding all the details and missing parts so that everyone sees the seahorse and it's not just me. Anyway I'll have to confess that at first it was intended to be a crocodile but then I thought it would do better as a seahorse and that's how he stayed.

Mr. Hermit Crab

Hi everyone!!!!!

This is my friendly Hermit crab I did the other day. This character is 100% mine, not copied from anywhere!!! I started with a little scribble that turned into the shell  and then I added the crab...what do you think???? like it????
P.D: Have a great weekend!!! :)

Practicing drawing skills

Hi guys!! I've lately started to get very interested in animation and animation characters. Being Disney the " big monster of animation" I put my drawing skills and knowledge into drawing some of my personal favorite Disney characters. Although I prefer to make up my own characters and not just copy, I think it's a very useful thing to do in order to get better at drawing. I've also created some new drawings of my own recently that I'll be posting later this week.
Would love to have some feedback, thoughts suggestions etc.
 Anyways, here they are:

And in more detail:

Hope you enjoyed them!! ;)

I LOVE Greece

I did this painting a few months ago, after visiting Greece last summer. It's based on a watercolour I found on the internet. I'm guessing it's Santorini but i'm not quite sure,it could be any small, white greek village.I didn't do the painting directly from my own photos because i didn't have the chance to take many and i went there with a horrible camera so nothing good came out... I'm sorry i coudn't take a better picture of the painting, but it reflected light no matter how or where you took the picture!!! :)

Conspiration in Toy Land

HI!! Todays' doodle scares me.The teddy bears' eyes really give me the creeps!!! And, the clown, well, he's a clown.I drew it after a physics exam that didn't go that well so that may explain the state of mood i was in when i created these monsters. The WTF?s came the day after, when i saw the drawing and thought exactly that.... Hahaha i coudn't believe it was me who had done it. You know, i'm that type of guy that almost never gets angry but if you'd seen the exam you would completely understand me! xD

Photo of the week!

Todays' photo is one of my personal favourites.I took it in Andros island in the Bahamas. It's quite a big ( if i remember right,it is the biggest in the Bahamas),non turistic and undiscovered island, making it perfect for a family vacation. We stayed in a beautiful house that was actually built away from the shoreline and in the water. The photograph is taken from the porch and, although it has some digital alterations (more contrast and some light and shadow adjustments), sunsets from that porch were simply breathtaking. The water was actually salt water and one morning we were lucky enough to see a dolphin. There were also lots of trumpet fish, baby barracuda and zebra-stripped fish swimming around the house and it was almost as a fairytale except, perhaps, for the mosquitoes and the somewhat horrible smell of the water...Anyway you can't expect for all of it to be perfect, but I spent a lovely time with all my family and i would certainly repeat the experience!!!

Philosophical Teddy Bear??

Today i'm posting a doodle i found in my philosophy notebook. While I listened to the teacher talking about Kant and his philosophical ideas i drew this teddy bear. I like him because he is kind of cute and scary at the same time and, while he's not very philosophical he's as wierd as most philosophers and their ideas xD

P.d: Did you know why Teddy bears are called that way?? well,it's all thanks to the american president Theodore Roosevelt and his love for hunting. His nickname was "Teddy" and on a bear hunting trip in Mississippi, he came upon a wounded young bear and ordered the mercy killing of the animal. The Washington Post depicted the moment with a cartoon where Rosevelt appeared with a cute bear cub. The story became very popular and so they gave this name to the famous toy.

Watercolour Owl

Hi! it's been a while since i posted anything because i've been kind of busy. Anyway, i've just finished a watercolour owl which i think turned out quite nicely. I will be giving it as a present to a friend of mine that has been waiting for her birthday present for a year and a half..... Hope you ENJOY IT(and hope she does to because after all the waiting she must think i forgot all about her)! :)

Lighthouse painting

Today i'm just posting another of my paintings. This one is based on a photograph i found browsing around the web. I think that this painting is one of those paintings that are nicer in real life than in photographs... It was a gift for my parents and i personally like it.do you??? :)

Photo of the week!

This week i'm posting a photo I personally like a lot because of the beautiful patterns and colours. You'll probably ask yourself what exactly is this. Well, while it looks like an image from a kaleidoscope it's far from that. It's actually a dome, the dome of "the Hall of the Abencerrajes family" in the Alhambra, Granada,Spain. I went there on a long weekend right before Christmas and the whole Alhambra complex, with it's fountains, gardens and halls is simply stunning.

The Alhambra is,by far, the best remain of spanish muslim heritage, closely followed by Cordoba's cathedral-mosque. Muslim architecture is lovely, paying close attention to detail and blending nature with architecture in a beautiful way.
If you haven't gone to Granada and visited the Alhambra yet, I strongly recomend it. When I ask people if they have visited  Spain most of them say "Yes,well i've been to Barcelona" Don't get
Me wrong, Barcelona is also lovely, but there are many other places in Spain that are at least as beautiful that no one knows. And, besides, Barcelona considers itself the least spanish part of Spain so if you want to learn spanish and spanish culture it's not the best place to go.

Pop icon!

Today i've got to share my latest creation with you. It's a painting i've done in my art class for a little competition they are holding. They said that the painting had to be a relatively famous portrait but you had to "substitute" his or her face with yours.....
I had a great time painting it,althought at first I didn't want to participate (I was afraid of what would come out of it!!!) I finally decided to participate (Actually, the teacher didn't give me an option) and I went on to choose the portrait I would use for this project. I ended up choosing Andrew Warhols' portrait of Michael Jackson (Don't ask me why because i've got no idea ) It was hard trying to maintain the "Michael Jackson look" while trying to make him look like me, but I finally more or less achived it.
If you don't know the actual portrait here it is:

I'm sure you all know who Andrew Warhol is because he is the "father" of pop art and a very famous american artist.
Anyway, I've turned myself into Michael Jackson. I might not sing or dance as well as he did but I could also be a pop icon ;) Don't believe me??? Haha well here's the proof:

Photo of the week

Apart from my doodles and paintings I also love photography and I have a few pictures I've taken all around the world in my travels with my family. I will be posting one every week! Hope you enjoy them :)
I'll start with my photograph of the bridge of sighs, in Venice. I went to the famous, romantic and wet city last year and had a great time. It's a pitty to think that scientists say that in a few hundred years the city might "drown"....
Anyway, I love this photo because of the feeling of being squeezed between the buildings and because it shows the spirit of Venice. I chose to put it in black & white because I think it gives the photograph a nice dramatic effect.

Elephant OBSESSION!

Exactly, that's what I have!!!! I absolutely adore these majestic, humangeous and intelligent creatures, being elephants one of my symbols of identity. If you where to get all of my drawings, doodles, paintings etc. more than 30% would have an elephant as the main subject.
Being that said, I'll put here two I'm especially fond of-

1.I call this the Psychodellic elephant, and it´s one of my personal favourites. It's a watercolor and i've already done a few others with other colors tht i've given to friends and family and the outcome was just as satisfactory.

2.This is a painting I did for a friend. It was her birthday present and it's actually a vey close replica of an already existing artwork from an artist whose name I don't know.
